We at Raheny Tidy Villlage we want to thank our amazing volunteers and other community organisations in Raheny for their continued support.
🏆 Tidy Towns: Let’s Go for Gold… Again!
Our entry for the SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition has been submitted! Judging for the competition will take place in June and July. After earning a Gold Medal in 2024, we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for a great result this year. We have been busy picking litter, maintaining hundreds of plants around the village, removing graffiti and working with Dublin City Council on several projects to improve the village.
🌟 You can help by:
Sweeping outside your home or shop
Doing a quick 2-minute litter pick
Adopting a Patch — Pick an area in your locality to look after and we can supply equipment.
Planting a pollinator-friendly flower
Letting part of your garden grow wild
🌻 Projects & Events

🌿 Raheny Biodiversity Action Plan Launch
In April, we proudly launched the Raheny Biodiversity Action Plan. A big thank you to:
Dr. Mary Tubridy, author of the plan
Dr. Matthew Jebb, Director of the National Botanic Gardens
The event showcased our community's commitment to nature and sustainability. The plan was funded by Community Foundation Ireland and is available for download here. Thank you to the local businesses and groups who supported the event — Raheny Community Spirit is alive and well!
Thanks are also due to Raheny Tidy Village Group volunteers Jill Macklin, Clare O’Sullivan and Allison Woods , and Una Healy ( Una Healy Design) who did Trojan work to create a beautifully presented plan.

🌱 Community Garden
Open every Saturday at 10:30 a.m., our Community Garden is located behind the Catholic Church. Drop by and say hello!

🍎 Dispersed Orchard in Raheny
Dispersed orchards are small clusters of fruit trees spread throughout a community. We've teamed up with local schools, businesses, residents' associations, and community groups to plant a dispersed orchard in Raheny with native Irish heritage fruit trees. This initiative has been made possible through funding from the Dublin City Council Community Climate Action Grant.
🐝 Biodiversity Workshop
In May, we hosted a workshop in the Community Garden led by Aaron Foley, Biodiversity Officer with Dublin Community Growers. It was a great workshop and we learned how small actions support native wildlife.

🔄 Plant & Seed Swap
Held in May, this year’s Plant and Seed swap was a success with great community turnout. Thank you to everyone who participated!

🎨 New Mural on Springdale Road
Don’t miss the stunning new mural by local artists Susan Crossan and Ellie Green. Installed in partnership with Dublin City Council and St. Joseph’s Hospital, it’s a beautiful design, incorporating a local fox, a brent goose and a fox representing local biodiversity.

🌻 Tallest Sunflower Competition
